Ok, first off, let me get a couple of things out of the way. When I first heard there was going to be a new season of Code Lyoko, I was majorly excited. But then I heard that the scenes that take place on Earth/the real world were going to be live-action and that got me to having some doubts.
Anyway, I just finished watching the preview episode that was released today (which you can see here:
[link])....and it just blew me away! The writing is great, the characters are more complex then in the original series, and the CG in the scenes on Lyoko just look stunning!
Now I will say that my immediate concern with this being half-live action was that the dubbing was going to suck. Thankfully, I was 100% wrong. The dubbing is way superior to that of the original series and, again, there's more depth put into the writing.
So, with all that said, I am definitely looking forward to seeing future episodes! Hopefully, they'll all show the level of quality of this episode.
